Barbell Bent Over Rows

Article care of midwestsupplements.com

Barbell bent over rows is one of the most misunderstood exercises in the gym. I was watching a well developed guy doing this exercise the other day with only 95lb. on the bar! This is a guy who can max bench press approximately 335lb. In order for barbell bent over rows to be effective, you have to use the correct amount of weight to stimulate growth.

The flip side to someone using to little of weight, is somebody using way too much weight to properly perform the exercise. I see this alot also. So what is a good weight? Somewhere around 50-60% of your 1 rep max on bench press. That should be about right for bent over rows. If it feels a little heavy and you can't feel the back working when doing the exercise, then try lower the weight. If it feels excessively light and you can go heavier, then raise the poundage.

Working the back as hard as other muscle groups like arms and chest will payoff big in your physique appearance. A thick back will make you look more powerful and overall muscular. Bent over barbell rows is one of the best exercises to achieve that thick back.
